Team USA held its first official practice over the weekend. This year's squad features 12 of the NBA's elite superstars and as expected players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant have all been seen in nothing but Olympic styled sneakers these past few days.
For those unfamiliar with the history of Team USA and Olympic styled sneakers you can go back to the original Dream Team from 1992 and spot a variety of now classic shoes such as the Olympic Air Jordan 7 and the Air Force 180. Over the weekend Nike launched a special USA Basketball collection featuring some of the most notorious sneakers ever worn by Nike athletes during the Olympics. But an even better treat was on display at the Kickoff Summer Fun sneaker event in Hong Kong over the Saturday which had an intense collection of Team USA footwear on showcase. The display featured a variety of LeBron's USA kicks including the Zoom Generation and the LeBron 5 but it also had classics such as the Olympic Ewings and Melo's PE Air Jordan 7's.
