#4 Air Jordan 1 Black/Varsity Red
The black and varsity red Air Jordan 1 is the very first Air Jordan ever released. Launched in March of 1985 for a mere $65, the sneaker is what begun the Air Jordan phenomena. What helped give these sneakers even more notoriety were the fines MJ recieved whenever he wore the shoe at the start of his NBA career. The NBA believed the sneaker did not have enough "white" on it and decided to fine Jordan $5,000 each game he wore the sneaker. Eventually Nike would release a more "appropriate" colorway but these would forever go on to be infamous.
Since it's original launch the sneaker has been retro'd in a variety of ways. Just recently Jordan Brand released an actual "banned" makeup in honor of MJ's fines for the shoe. Anyone looking to build a solid Air Jordan collection needs to look no further than these right here as a definite must own.
